| About Tanya Radic Tanya started painting full time in 2005. Initally it began in the kitchen. Soon there was little room for the fruit much less the still life. The studio took a dive for the basement. One must have light to paint. It wasn't very long before she convinced her husband that a studio was necessary for survival.. and dinner. Now she has her studio in Cross Plains Tennessee. After a career as a Registered Nurse at Vanderbilt Hospital she is more interested in painting their portrait and healing their soul than just attending to their physical needs. "I love working in Oil Mediums. I find that oil is almost mistake proof as you can wipe it off. Watercolor is much less forgiving. Painting is an expression of the inner spirit. It is best not to judge your work. The soul has a mind to control your hands. Art is born in all of us. We all see the world in different ways. Children have not been intimidated by the 'good, the bad and the ugly' they just enjoy expressing their views and expressions. I can never paint like Michaelangelo, but then I don't want to paint like a "dead artist" either. It is our duty to express our uniqueness. By allowing our individuality to come through we are allowing other people in our world to be themselves, different and wonderful." Experience: Art Fundamentals with Gayle-Levee in Nashville TN since 2006. Plein Air Workshops with Brett Weaver and Roger Dale Brown. Portraits with Geralda Schockley. Still Life Workshops with Jean Chambers. Tanya is a member of the Tennessee Art League For further influences and interesting art reading, check out the links page. |
